Hi all,
A quick follow-up to our post around MSFS 2024 compatibility as we get closer to release day. We have updated our compatibility dashboard to include what we are calling our "comfort plans” for each product. This should provide peace of mind so that you can continue to buy with confidence. Each product status will indicate whether a product will be “Compatible” or “Native” in MSFS 2024.
So what does that mean?
- COMPATIBLE: The product will work in MSFS 2024 just as it does in MSFS 2020, without any major changes.
- NATIVE: The product will be updated to fully leverage MSFS 2024’s new features and, where necessary, adjust for its limitations.
I’ve already spoken about the challenges we have been seeing in evaluating our products in the MSFS 2024 dev alphas. Here’s a little snippet of that volatility in having products bounce back in forth over the various sim iterations. Each column is a dev build, each row is a product, yes, we tested every single one, every single time...
The data may look gloomy, but let me finish by saying that there is a silver lining and that we’re starting to see a clearer picture emerge. We are excited about what MSFS 2024 has to offer and the new features we’ll be able to embrace. Thinking of the ones we have yet to discover is most exciting!
That said, it just makes good business sense for us to focus on moving forward rather than bringing over some of our older products as completely Native. In some cases, it’s actually more efficient—and creatively rewarding—to start fresh and build something better, or leave some things in the past.
Head over to our compatibility dashboard now to see an updated status per product. Please note that "will be available" ≠ on 2024 release day. We're looking at weeks and in some cases months of work. Our next update will likely provide a more detailed roadmap, stay tuned!
