This appears to be an issue with the system we have to use to get data about the flight.
When reading the data, the sim resets the time based on the flight settings without being instructed to do so.
Replicate this bug without Stripr
The system used by the Flight Condition panel to gather data about the flight is the same we use for Stripr. It also suffers from this behavior.
- Open the World Map
- Move the time slider to a different time
- Open and Close the "Flight Condition" panel
- The time slider will be back to live
Workaround
- Open the World Map
- Open the "Flight Condition" panel
- Under "Weather and Time", select "Preset" instead of "Live"
- Select Live Weather in the list of presets
