At the very core of our mission statement with The Skypark is “Freedom.” Freedom to fly what you own, freedom to fly where you want, and starting today, freedom to play the game YOUR way.

Some of you may be thinking, “But when can I spend money!?” We promise it’s coming, but game modes need to exist first.

OK, so what are game modes? Once you reach Level 3, you unlock Game Modes. In the Settings App under Gameplay, you‘ll be able to choose from 2 game modes, Discovery & Endeavour. Think of it like parallel lives, (yea, I went there) you can switch between them at any time, and The Skypark will save your progression data independently. Level 3 can be achieved with as little as 3 flights depending on your choice of contracts.

Discovery Mode

2: to obtain sight or knowledge of for the first time

Discovery Mode is best suited for pilots that don’t want the fuss of finances, levels, or reliability ratings. All content and contracts are fully unlocked, and the only metered metric is the contract expiration timer. Discovery mode is also excellent for Content Creators that want to share the latest and greatest contracts/experiences with their viewers.

Endeavour Mode

2: to work with a set purpose

Endeavour Mode is the way to go for pilots that want to experience The Skypark as intended by our team. You’ll experience a challenging and rewarding gamification of Flight Simulation. It provides pilots with purpose, inspiring worldwide exploration with a very complex progression concept on the back end that mirrors the real world. Finances, levels, reliability ratings, karma, and your decisions all play an active part in what content becomes available, and when.

Closing thoughts

This is an exciting point for us here at Parallel 42. It’s kind of like turning a corner in Super Mario Cart and hitting a boost pad that provides a spurt of acceleration. With the logic for modes in place, we’re now able to proceed at a solid pace down the path of introducing additional contract requirements, penalties, operation costs, and other money draws. At the same time, users that hate the thought of gameplay hurdles will stay happy, discovering the virtual skies. ✌️
