In the movie TRON, “End of Line” is used by programs similar to the way humans use phrases like “That’s final” and “That will be all.” Thus, beyond being an incredible tune by Daft Punk on the official soundtrack, It can also serve as a formal goodbye.
Today 777 Immersion V1 says “End of Line.” Initially released on December 17, 2014, the product has received updates through many PMDG 777 variations and multiple simulators, including FSX and Prepar3D.
At Parallel 42, we prefer to focus on pushing the envelope of currently available technologies rather than spending time supporting officially retired ones. We’re excited to continue shedding support for FSX products to make way for future technologies. However, it’s important to note that the V1 product still has limited use thru Prepar3D v4. Therefore, the following changes are effective immediately.
- Price reduced to $10 USD
- Continued functionality with pre-2021 versions of the PMDG 777 from FSX to Prepar3D v4 up to build number 1.10.8886
- Will not work with the 2021 PMDG 777 release
- No further development or updates
- No ongoing product support
So, what’s next?
Well, in April of 2020, when Lockheed Martin introduced Prepar3D v5, we made the following statement: “777 — Remember what I said about special snowflakes? PMDG has made a statement about this aircraft getting quite the update, which will include a new -200ER variant. We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.”
It’s time to cross that bridge, V2 is coming.
