We've got some news and a bit of nostalgia to share with you today. As you know, we've been cranking out top-tier software for FSX/P3D for many years, and we couldn't be prouder of what we've accomplished. But as the world of flight simulation evolves, so must we!
Today, we officially shift our focus to Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS) and fully embrace the platform. MSFS has come a long way since it first entered the scene as the new kid on the block, and after years in existence, it's proven to be a strong player in our ecosystem. With MSFS 2024 on the horizon, the future is brighter than ever, and we're thrilled to be a part of it.
As you know, PMDG recently pulled its entire FSX/P3D catalog offline. We're also making some changes, but don't worry—our FSX/P3D products aren't going anywhere; they've become our beloved "Legacy Collection". They will remain available for purchase as-is to ensure that people still enjoying the platform with aircraft they own can continue to access all complimentary //42 products.
Prices have also been reduced across all legacy products to a fair price that helps us maintain the minimal infrastructure. The only exception is ChasePlane Professional, which will remain officially supported for our commercial partners.
Interestingly, this transition coincides with the release of our first MSFS effects package (A320 Immersion), making it a bittersweet moment. So, as we look back with pride on our Legacy line, we also look forward with excitement.
To us, the legacy line of products isn't just code and pixels; it's the foundation that put us on the map and shaped our company's identity. It forged lasting connections with you, our amazing community, and fellow developers.
We'll continue to push the boundaries of what's possible in flight simulation, building on the solid foundation of our Legacy products and blazing new paths in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020/2024.
